Kubernetes v1.37: Scale Workloads to Zero with HorizontalPodAutoscaler
Kubernetes v1.37 adds Beta API support, enabled by default, for scaling workloads down to zero replicas with HorizontalPodAutoscaler. An HPA can scale to zero and bring workloads back when a suitable object or external metric changes, without requiring an add-on or external component.

Why it matters
Scaling workloads to zero can reduce resource use when demand falls while allowing autoscaling to restart them as metrics change. The built-in Kubernetes support removes the need for a separate component for this behavior.
