IEA report highlights thermal storage’s role in industrial heat electrification
An International Energy Agency report points to thermal energy storage and other commercial technologies as potential contributors to electrifying industrial heat. One estimate says electrifying low-temperature industrial heat and steam processes with renewables could reduce EU natural-gas use by 35 billion cubic metres annually; the report also discusses the wider grid role of commercial technologies.
